RLS Representative Office in Central Asia
The Rosa Luxemburg Foundation's Representative Office in Central Asia and the German-Kazakh Society organized an online event on 28 October 2021 on the topic "Afghanistan and Central Asia: New Challenges for the Region?".

Keynote speakers:
  • Dr. Sultan Akimbekov, historian, political scientist, director of the Institute of Asian Studies (Almaty);
  • Dr. Farhod Tolipov, political scientist, Director of the non-governmental research institution "Caravan of Knowledge" (Tashkent);
  • Dr. Andrea Schmitz, expert of the SWP Foundation for Science and Policy - German Institute for International and Security Affairs (Berlin).

The discussion with three renowned experts from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Germany focused on the question of whether Afghanistan will become a source of instability for Central Asian countries with the Taliban coming to power, what new dangers and problems threaten the region and what solutions can be proposed.
